The creative hands of Fendi: Karl Lagerfeld
Fendi’s designer, Karl Lagerfeld, never rests and hates holidays, and he does not have a TV in his house, so maybe he can concentrate better on making those designs full of color, energy and a touch of irreverence.
His great weakness is women in which he is inspired, they are his inexhaustible source to create and to stimulate his collections. However, his determination has allowed him to go far.
He developed trends and spent three years with Pierre Balmain and then a year with Jean Patou. His recognition came when he worked in Chloé, where he started in 1963, was in that firm for 20 years. In 1965 he began designing leather collections for Fendi.
Fendi and a story
The Italian fashion firm Fendi was founded in Rome in 1918 by Adele Casagrande. In principle it was a shop specializing in leather products. Years later, in 1925 Adele Casagrande married Edoardo Fendi and the business changed its name. It currently has stores all over the world.
In June of this year, the designer and president of the firm Fendi, Carla Fendi, died at the age of 80. Carla Fendi joined the firm in the fifties, along with her sisters Anna, Paola, Franca and Aida.
Carla Fendi has, over time, forged a friendly relationship with Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of the brand for 50 years.
The Spring-Summer collection of Fendi 2017 is strengthened thanks to the creativity of a brand that already has more than four decades in the international fashion market.
